talisman pieces
These pieces record places and journeys that have personal meaning for me. I have been making them at intervals for several years using the natural objects found when I'm walking in Shetland, Orkney and Skomer. Shells, fossils, skulls and sea-washed glass are linked with copper or silver wire. Personal photographs and images derived from Bronze Age tombs and jewellery are also incorporated to give the pieces a strong sense of time and place.
