biography

Born in Tanzania and brought up in London, I studied for a degree in Geography and subsequently spent several years teaching in the Caribbean before returning to take a Master's degree in Education at Nottingham University. I have always loved the textures and colours of fabrics and when my children were small I studied textiles at the London College of Fashion and at East Berkshire College. After this training, I taught in the textile department at Morley College, London whilst also teaching freelance workshops in design and felt making and giving lectures on Archaelogical Textiles. I am an exhibiting artist in England and my work is held in public and private collections and has also been published in ‘Embroidery' magazine. I currently make work in my studio in Cambridge and continue to give lectures on a freelance basis.
